Description of Features
ULTRA-100

Easy to Install

Push-Button Setup

All sensor adjustments use the recessed side push-button, completely eliminating touchy potentiometers! You can adjust:
1. Relay set point distance
2. Relay state (ON of OFF when closer than set point distance)
3. Response time
4. Security lock and re-lock
Push-button adjustable features are identified below by

Front Status Indicator

The front red LED indicator:
(1) is ON when the output relay contacts are closed. The contacts are closed when a target is detected closer or farther than the relay set point distance according to the set point and state settings, and
(2) FLASHES while holding the push-button in to adjust sensor parameters

Setting the relay switching distance is simple. Place your target at the switching distance, then press the push-button until the front Indicator flashes twice, then release the button - it's that simple!
Surface Mounting
The sensor housing incorporates 2 flanges for mounting to a flat surface using two screws.
4-wire Pigtail Cable
A 2-m (6 ft) pigtail cable exits the sensor side.. Power, ground and (2) relay contact output wires are provided.
Sensitivity Adjustment
A rear recessed potentiometer is available to increase or decrease the sensor's overall sensitivity to especially weak or strong targets. For example, you may want to increase sensitivity to detect thin cloth materials, or decrease it to avoid detecting smaller side objects that are not the prime target.

Proximity With Ultrasonic Performance

Detects Any Type of Material
The ultrasonic sensor generally detects any type of material - hard or soft, small or large. The target's optical characteristics (reflectivity, opacity, color, etc.) don't matter (some types of foam and thinly woven/non-woven materials that absorb or are transparent to ultrasound may not be detectable).
"Distance Discriminating" Proximity
Unlike traditional proximity sensors, the ULTRA-100 Distance Proximity Switch measures the distance to the target and reports proximity based on the target being closer or farther than a set distance.
High Sensitivity for Weak Targets
The high sensitivity transducer used in this model permits detection of small or weak targets, such as cloth or non woven materials. The included sensitivity adjustment can be used to tailor the sensor to your application.
Measures Short or Long Range
Ultrasonic proximity sensing permits detection of targets at much greater distances than traditional proximity sensors. This sensor has a maximum range of 10 feet (3050 mm). Other models have even longer ranges if required.
BlueButton.gif (988 bytes) User-Selected Response Time
The sensor's response time can be adjusted from 50 mSec to 10 Seconds to suit your application. Using a combination of measurement period and counting required good measurements (all user selected), this results in an appropriate response for slower applications and guarantees a stable output under noisy or poor target conditions.

Ideal for OEM Applications

Inexpensive
The ULTRA-100 is a cost effective solution for simple control or alarm applications.
Simple Relay Contact Output
The SPST contacts are a simple way to connect with most equipment including PLC's, indicators, alarms and other industrial monitoring and control equipment. The contacts are rated at 50W. An interposing relay may be required to switch larger currents or voltages.
BlueButton.gif (988 bytes) Calibration Lock
The Calibration Lock prevents accidental and unauthorized adjustment. To perform a push-button adjustment the sensor must first be unlocked. The sensor will automatically re-lock after 15 minutes, or can be manually re-locked.
Available as Component Set
Senix® can provide the component board and transducer set for integration into an OEM product or package for medium and higher volume applications. The packaged sensor can also be relabeled with your company's name
