All sensor adjustments use the recessed rear push-button,
completely eliminating touchy potentiometers! You can adjust:
1. 0 & 10 VDC target distances
2. Short / Long range selection
3. Response time filter ON/OFF
4. Calibration unlock or relock
Target
Status Indication
The rear green LED indicator is:
1. Stable ON when the target is within the 0-10 VDC calibrated span
2. Flashes slowly when the target is in the sensor's range but outside the 0-10 VDC
calibrated span
3. Flashes quickly when no target is detected within the sensor's selected range
The indicator also flashes for feedback when performing push-button setup functions.
Actual Target Calibration Spanning the 0-10 VDC output
is simple. Place your target at one endpoint (either the 0 or 10 VDC position) and use the
push-button to store that distance in the sensor. Then do the same for the other end of the
range.
30-mm Thread Mount The sensor barrel is a standard 30mm thread.
Simply insert the sensor through a plate with an appropriate size hole and tighten the 2
nuts (supplied).
3-wire Pigtail Cable A 2-m (6 ft) pigtail shielded
cable exits the sensor rear. Power, ground, output voltage and shield termination wires
are provided.
High Performance
High Sensitivity for Weak
Targets The high sensitivity
transducer used in this model permits detection of small or weak targets, such as cloth or
non woven materials.
Measures Short or Long Range By selecting either Short or Long Range you
get optimum performance for your application. The Short Range selection permits a target
within 3 inches (76 mm) of the sensor face. The Long Range selection offers target
distance out to a distance of 80 inches (2032 mm).
User-Selected Target Filter The sensor's output response can be fast or
slow. Turn this filter on to slow down the response for stability under noisy or poor
target conditions. The filter will yield a stable output on unstable targets such as a
out-of-round roll.
Industrial Packaging The ULTRA-30-VA is housed in a rugged
industrial, black-anodized aluminum case that will look great on your machine. At
appropriate volumes we can also relabel the sensor with your company's name.
Standard 0-10 VDC Output The standard 0-10 VDC output provides the
most common way to connect with motor drives, PLC's, tension controls, proportional valves
and other industrial monitoring and control equipment.
Calibration
Lock The Calibration Lock prevents accidental and
unauthorized adjustment. To perform a push-button adjustment the sensor must first be
unlocked. The sensor will automatically relock after 15 minutes, or can be manually
relocked.
